FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How does scoring work?

H2H One Win. Each week, you face one opponent in 9 categories. Win more categories than your opponent and you get one win in the standings; lose more and you get one loss. Split the categories evenly and it’s a tie.

What are the 9 scoring categories?

We are using the standard Yahoo! 9-cat format.
FG% • FT% • 3PTM • PTS • REB • AST • STL • BLK • TO

How many teams are in the league?

12 teams split into 2 divisions.

How do we pay?

It’s $100 to get in, paid through LeagueSafe, a secured fantasy league payment service that collects and holds league dues paid out the season winners.
LeagueSafe accepts major cards as well, no more hounding managers for their money!

What’s the payout?

🥇 1st: $650
🥈 2nd: $350
🥉 3rd: $200
Finish last in the consolation tournament and you get the 🩴La Chancleta Award🩴. Don’t be that team.

How does the keeper rule work?

During the offseason, you can keep one player drafted in Round 3 or later for one extra season. Round 1 and 2 picks can’t be kept. After the extra keeper season, that player returns to the draft pool.

Can my keeper’s value change, and can I trade them?

Of course. A player can blow up, fall off, or change teams—his value is up to the managers. Decide whether to keep or trade an eligible player before his keeper eligibility expires.

How do we get draft spots?

Every team gets a shot at a new draft spot each season, followed by a snake draft. The order can come from Yahoo’s randomizer or a league draft lottery event.

Who makes the playoffs?

The top 6 teams get in. The two division winners earn the top 2 seeds and a first-round bye.

When does the fantasy playoffs end?

The playoffs end two weeks before the NBA regular season ends.

What happens if I miss the playoffs?

You’re in the consolation tournament. Finish dead last and you take home the La Chancleta Award. Hold that L.

WTF is the La Chancleta Award?

“La Chancleta”
means “the slipper” in Spanish—a classic slipper used for an old-school ass-whooping, now reserved for the league’s last-place punishment. Finish dead last in the consolation tournament and you earn the La Chancleta Award. Your team gets cemented in league history with all the others who ate the biggest L their season. Legendary for all the wrong reasons.

Can we change the rules?

Yeah. Managers can vote on proposed league rule changes. Speak up and get your vote in.
